Academic Grants
The Consul General of the Kingdom of Morocco in New York is thrilled to inform the Moroccan community residing in the USA, that pursuant to the partnership agreement signed on March 19, 2010, between the Ministry in charge of the Moroccan Community Residing Abroad and the Ministry of National Education, Higher Education, Professional Training and Scientific Research, another 1000 scholarships for the upcoming academic year have been granted, which will benefit Moroccan students residing abroad and allow them to pursue their undergraduate degrees, Master's or PhDs.
Moroccan students interested in applying for the above mentioned scholarships are encouraged to submit their applications no later than January 31, 2012, to the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Morocco in New York.

The Consul General of the Kingdom of Morocco in New York is pleased to announce that the deadline to apply for the new Moroccan ID (the CNIE) is December 31, 2011, and to urge those who have not yet applied to either come to the New York Consulate General, or visit one of the closest locations of the Mobile Consulate to their place of residence.

Important Notice
Pursuant to Decree number 4808 bis, dated June 6, 2000, co-signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and the Minister of Economics and Finance, please note that in case Consular Services are provided away from a chancery (outside of the Consulate), a surcharge of 20% above the regular fees applies.
In addition to that, if Consular services are rendered after regular office hours, on a weekday, during daytime, a surcharge in the amount of 80DH an hour applies.
If Consular services are rendered after regular office hours, on a weekday, during nighttime (between 8pm and 7am), a surcharge in the amount of 150DH an hour applies.
If Consular services are rendered after regular office hours, on a weekend, during daytime, a surcharge in the amount of 150DH an hour applies.

Biometric Passport Guidelines The Consul General of the Kingdom of Morocco in New York is very pleased to announce the official introduction and gradual generalization of biometric passports, in line with the recommendations of the International Organization of Civil Aviation.
The first step toward the biometric passport application is the Carte Nationale d'Identité Eléctronique (CNIE).
Biometric passports will contain security features based on the most advanced technologies to increase reliability and therefore, protect their holders against fraudulent use in case of loss, theft or attempted identity theft.
Passports issued or extended prior to March 8, 2010, will be valid until their expiration date.

The Consulate General of the Kingdom of Morocco in New York serves Moroccans in allover the United States at the exception of the Washington D.C area (i.e. Washington, Virginia, Maryland) which is handled by the Consular Section of the Moroccan Embassy in Washington DC (Phone: 202-462-7734 or 27). New York is the US largest most important port of entry; hence the establishment of a Consulate General in New York is very significant.
